It all started with a pearl! I wanted to make a necklace out of it, the portrait of a lover whose country of origin is associated with pearls. Then I thought, why not let *everyone* make their own lovers' portraits? That's how the Lovers necklace was born!

Each charm is meant to evoke one aspect of a love story:

The vase: to honor the first time he/she gave you flowers
The flowers: you bloomed
The snake: a taste for danger
The chess: a pun on the French word "échec" which means chess but also failure
The mussel: our symbol for a girls’ only love story
The pearl: your lover is a gem
The sword: you fight a lot
The diamond: refers to someone brilliant, smart
The cross: a reference to a lover who was rather conservative
The frog: your lover is French! Or if he/she turns out to be some kind of prince·ss charming, going from ugly to handsome under your spell
