The story behind the August earcuffs is the island of Capri. Roman emperors used to holiday in Capri and among them Caesar Augustus - also known as Octavian - is an iconic figure on the island: a famous statue of him stands on the road between Capri and Anacapri, and one of the oldest hotels on the island is called the Caesar Augustus. The three original colours of the August earcuffs are a nod to this mythical island, and to the Mediterranean in general, where really all we need are these three colours: gold, silver, and a stunningly bright blue.
All our earcuffs are cast in our own custom-made moulds in Algeria and treated (gold or silver-dipped, then painted) in two different French workshops near Paris. They are delivered with cards printed on FSC certified paper, in a shipping box made of Austrian undulated kraft and filled with recycled paper shredding.
